My Dad

In High5 we have been practising writing to describe. That means we are trying to get the reader to see what we see, we are using our words to create a picture. We have been adding details to our writing to help make the picture clearer.

Task:
Our job is to do this planning and write our own story about a person in our family that is special to us.

Success Criteria:

Reflection

My favourite part was: planing my story because you get to add lots of details and do lots of thinking.

It was really hard: to fix my writing because it takes ages and I'm sometimes not sure what to do.

Something that really helped me was: My plan 

Something new I learned was: my dad has brown eyes not blue eyes like I wrote in my story.

You plan your writing and use your plan to make sure you have added details to your story. I think in your writing book you have plans with more ideas than this one. Remember to slow down and make sure you have captured your ideas so that when you write stories over several days you can remember what you wanted to write.
Your next learning step is to reread you writing and make sure it makes sense. You might need to add some fullstops and capital letters or some words you have missed out. It is tricky to fix it but keep on practising!
